One of the hippest jungle labels in the U.K., East Anglia's Certificate 18 hasn't released more than 20 singles since 1991, but its material appears high on trainspotters' must-have lists -- both
Photek and
Source Direct have recorded obscure singles for the label, both under assumed names (
Studio Pressure and
Sounds of Life, respectively).
Hidden Rooms compiles the best sides from those two, as well as
Klute (not the industrial artist) with a warm, jazzy style much more interesting than most jungle jazz being recorded.
