Highlander by Claymore - DeepRiffs

ALBUM

The debut for this German Celtic rock outfit showed promise in theory; however, Highlander failed to deliver the studio goods. The vision of combining pop, arena rock, prog, and Scottish folk was an ambitious undertaking, but too frequently the album relied on clichéd elements of those various musical categories. On occasion Claymore got it right ("Lancelot" and the quirky "Hopp Frog"), but as a whole this album simply served as experience required for future growth.
