Ether is less about music than atmosphere; though
Hush could only loosely be categorized as ambient; the frequent appearances of polyrhythmic drums and percussion prevent the label from sticking. Their music is nevertheless built solely out of drones, textures, and elusive found sounds. Sequenced as a non-stop listening experience,
Hush strives to immerse the listener completely in its world; unfortunately, while long on mood, the album is short on innovation, and in the end it's only fitfully engaging.
