I Am You is the 2018 debut full-length from Florida-based rapper YNW Melly, who began posting songs online a few years earlier, when he was only 15 years old. Reflecting on his turbulent life experiences, including multiple arrests, his songs are raw and emotional ballads, showcasing his unfiltered vocals as well as his brash rapping. The album includes a few previous singles like "Murder on My Mind" and "Slang That Iron," but most of it is fresh material. The album charted on the Billboard 200 in January of 2019, several months after its initial release.
