The last
Boomtown Rats album, and nobody even noticed it was there. True, singles of "Tonight" and "Drag Me Down" brought the band two final tastes of U.K. chart success, but "Dave" became a serious flop, and the album resoundingly followed suit. Time has not softened the disappointment that this album represented upon its original release in 1984 -- and neither do the bonus tracks (wrapping up two B-sides, the single mix of "Dave," and a previously unheard demo) improve things any. Indeed, one can't help think that the only reason to pick up the remaster is because you've already bought its five predecessors, and you want to keep the collection complete. By all means, you should do that. But don't expect to play it very often. ~ Dave Thompson
