In Your World combines literary and artistic lyrical interpretations with an intelligent folk-funk sound. The first track, "Big Pop Vision," was based on portions of
Jack Kerouac's On the Road and
Richard Bach's Johnathan Livingston Seagull. Randy Perkin's knowledge of mediums other than music resurfaces again on the pop-driven "Dreaming Through a Paul Gauguin." These interpretations, while artsy, do not smack of pretense but rather offer feelings of tribute and respect to the subjects. The album plays naturally between unadulterated pop like "Climbing a Mountain" and "Savhanna Lily Jones" and moody introspective songs like "I Move On" and "Travel So Far."
