Here's a rather kitschy traditional German singalong album consisting of 21 old-time melodies that virtually define the stereotypical "Rhenish" character. This will either serve as harmless entertainment, a soundtrack for relentless imbibing, or a foolish embarrassment, especially for those who are German, descended from Germans, or who value Germanic culture and would prefer more dignified examples of the ethnic tradition. Although there are worse examples of Germanic musical caricature, this certainly is light eight middlebrow stuff. Some might prefer authentic Landler or even lieder. And that means Beethoven, Schubert, Schumann, Bruckner, and
Mahler. If all you want is something to wave your stein to, this will certainly do. ~ arwulf arwulf
