Necro Instrumentals, Vol. 1 features instrumental versions of
Necro's songs. Though the exploitative rapper is undoubtedly known best for his perversity and to a lesser extent for his rapping, he also produces the music on his albums as well.
Necro Instrumentals, Vol. 1 features some of his better moments as a producer -- without the perversity and the rapping. Indeed, the album suggests talent, but
Necro still takes the low road: Not only is his music lowbrow, it's also lo-fi, and that really makes it difficult to appreciate some of his productions. Granted, lo-fi beats have a certain allure, but an entire album of them, all recorded using the same sounds, doesn't have quite the same allure. The novelty dissipates quickly, and you grow unimpressed -- and then kind of bored. ~ Jason Birchmeier
