Three weeks after the label reissued D.A. Stern's solo debut, Aloha Hola, in late March of 2018, Slumberland Records returned with the EP Isn't It Obvious? Its two original Sterns include an infectious, power poppy title track and a blast of surf-punk called "Tenafly Cop." Having more in common with the latter than the former, the four-track set is rounded out by a noisy, feedback-studded cover of Frankie Cosmos' "Art School" and a more loyal version of Mannequin Pussy's "My Baby (Axe Nice)." While "Isn't It Obvious?" would have easily fit in on the full-length, the rest feels more like an after-party.
