A founding member of Swans and a fixture of the early ‘80s New York noise rock scene, drummer and multi-instrumentalist Jonathan Kane has blazed a visionary path through some of the less traveled musical climes of the avant-garde. While his CV includes stints with figures such as LaMonte Young and Rhys Chatham, Kane’s lifelong and underlying musical passion has always been the blues. JET EAR PARTY, Kane’s second full-length, combines the hypnotically propulsive rhythms of Krautrock’s motorik with the howling harmonic contours of Delta Blues and guitar-wielding minimalists Glenn Branca and Sonic Youth, and even contains a soulful female vocal-fronted cover of Sly Stone’s “Thank You Fallettinme Be Mice Elf Agin.”
