Late in his career, after a long period away from recording (only one album since 1958), pianist
Johnny Guarnieri made a series of recordings for small labels during 1973-79. This LP features him interpreting a dozen classic songs by one of the most underrated of all songwriters,
Harry Warren. Highlights of the solo set include "Nagasaki," "Lulu's Back In Town," "With Plenty of Money and You" and "Lullaby of Broadway," but all dozen tunes (which clock in between 2 1/2 to 5 1/2 minutes) are given favorable treatment by the brilliant, underrated swing pianist. ~ Scott Yanow
