A reissue of
Jerry's Decca album which, inexplicably climbed the charts to number three in 1956. His Jolson-like renditions of standards surprised everyone, especially those who had only heard him mugging shamelessly on his earlier Capitol recordings with and without sidekick
Dean Martin; when "Rockabye Your Baby With a Dixie Melody" became a Top Ten single from the album, it suddenly made the general public view this comic in a whole new light. This reissue also features five bonus tracks, a pair of singles from his second album session, and some interesting false starts to "Rockabye." Although
Lewis' style is pretty over-the-top, this is still one interesting chapter to a career that has lasted longer than most legit singers. ~ Cub Koda
