Dedicted to the Denver Broncos,
Killball is an odd mishmash of demented football anthems and insane screaming noise rock. The album title refers to a futuristic ultra-violent sport in which padless players are equipped with switchblades and machetes and take PCP to maximize their performance; it sounds like
Friends Forever has tried to replicate that attitude with its music.
Killball opens with "Carnisaur vs. Unicorn," a brief song (one of five on this album that last under two minutes) that could be the theme song for a gladiators-style cartoon in an alternative universe. This is followed by songs featuring shouting, guitar feedback, and even occasionally tribal drumming, not to mention halftime music that sounds like an out-of-tune marching band. Taken as a whole,
Killball is a goofy, incoherent clatter that has its entertaining moments, but not enough to sustain even the relatively short length (under a half hour) of this recording. ~ Todd Kristel
