There isn't anything particularly "late night" about this generally mellow set of roots pieces, and it seems more bright and summery than anything else, moving along with a pleasant enough vibe but hardly including anything truly essential. It's always nice to hear
Junior Byles' "There's a Place Called Africa," though, and the mandatory
Bob Marley track is
Marley & the Wailers' relatively rare and delicate cover of
Curtis Mayfield's
Impressions-era "Long, Long Winter," a
Lee "Scratch" Perry produced track that may be a revelation to some.
