Packaged to resemble a compilation from the mid-'50s or early '60s, Latin Jazz includes descarga jams from the mid-'80s recorded by
Charlie Palmieri ("Start the World, I Want to Get On," "Fiesta a la King"),
Mongo Santamaria ("Power Struggle," "Zimbabwe"),
Pepe Castillo ("Druma"), and
Adalberto Santiago ("Camino a Casa"). Though the music is excellent throughout, the sound quality is oddly distorted, as though the producers lopped off most of the treble. ~ John Bush
