It's hard to expect something particularly worthwhile from a project that consists of various Finnish musicians and producers who started the band just for fun. And especially when the style is pretty much metal-influenced industrial, the starting point doesn't look good. But then again, the musicians of Itä-Saksa (who are known from their work with such bands as Ultra Bra and Don Huonot) are totally professional, and you can hear that fact while listening to Let's Kompromise. The album's sound is nearly perfect, and most of the songs are hit material. You can't listen to Let's Kompromise seriously though, since there are songs with titles such as "Los Niños" and "Oh Jesus, Elvis!" Also, listening to the noisy sound wall of "Viva las Palmas" while the whole band screams "Sex-o oral/Sex-o anal" requires a sense of humor of one sort or another. But if you don't have any problems with this, you'll surely enjoy Let's Kompromise. The album's only negative feature is the number of filler songs. Nearly half of the songs are slow and ambitious electronica, which just don't fit with Itä-Saksa's concept. However, the album's noisy songs somehow compensate, so this isn't a bad album at all. However, you'll need a sense of humor and a liking of industrial music to listen to it even for a second. And even though the boys of Itä-Saksa aren't serious, they aren't a musical joke either. Let's Kompromise is surprisingly good industrial metal and, for a debut, promises a lot for this band. ~ Antti J. Ravelin
