This Chicago band, formed in 1988, is a nice combination of Celtic rock, progressive rock, and deadhead music. It is really a very unique mixture of sounds ranging from folky tones in the style of
Bob Dylan to textures like
Phish and the Dead and music like
Pink Floyd. The highlight of the disc is a 22-plus-minute magnum opus called "The Bag." This piece in and of itself includes such wide influences as
Jimi Hendrix, Celtic sounds,
Pink Floyd, '70s progressive rock, and psychedelia. The personnel on this 1995 album are
Paul Bradley,
Sean Cleland,
David Callahan, and
Mike Kirkpatrick, with several backing musicians.
