While their scuzzy classics--YOU, THE NIGHT...AND THE MUSIC and FROM THE HEART OF THE TOWN--were bracing antitodes to the rising tide of mid-'90s mannered Britpop, Gallon Drunk's first live outing, LIVE AT KLUB 007, proves that their sax-and-violence sleaze remains refreshingly unhinged in any era. Recorded at the Klub 007 in Prague during their 2008 tour in support of THE ROTTEN MILE, LIVE concentrates mostly on material from that 2007 outing with a few nods to the old days ("Just One More", "Push the Boat Out"). James Johnston fronts the band with his daft charisma as charged as ever--matched growl for growl by Terry Edwards' suggestive saxophone riffs and Simon Wring's filthy fuzz riffs.
