This is the second of two albums released by British budget reissue label Prism Leisure compiling
Patsy Cline's complete recordings for Four Star Records. The first volume, as its title, Walkin' After Midnight, suggests, contained
Cline's one big hit of the period, and this one features minor material that made no impact upon initial release and only earns repeated reissue due to
Cline's status based on her later, successful recordings. That is not to say the tracks are worthless, though the songwriting isn't very impressive and the arrangements are hackneyed. Whatever the surroundings,
Cline still possesses a distinctive voice and an ability to bring the lyrics to life. She even makes an honest attempt to do rockabilly songs and manages them well enough, though she doesn't handle uptempo material with the interpretive ability she shows in ballads. Since
Cline decamped for Decca Records in the early '60s and Four Star sold its catalog to Everest Records, these recordings have been put out on one album after another, and there's nothing wrong with any of them, as long as the potential buyer recognizes that this is essentially juvenilia.
