Lovesick give us more creative, emotional songs on their self-titled CD. The songs on this release are like choose your own adventure stories, seeming to take unstructured turns, while falling back on similar parts only once in a while. The guitar lines are great in their melodic, fast picking. Vocals warble in and out with the music, creating a sad element to the up-tempo pace of the music. The loose drumming and guitar picking helps give the bass a more important role in keeping the parts together. The record lacks the punch of their previous self-titled LP. It is a bit more produced with the vocals in the foreground and the bass in the shadows.
