Marie Sisters has been trudged a thousand times. It's not surprising, then, that their sound is professional and polished, and also predictable. With the backup crew playing tight to the point of immobility, the sisters adhere to prevalent conventions of emotive solo singing on the verses and closed-eyed, punchy harmony on the choruses. There's actually nothing wrong with
Marie Sisters -- which, of course, is exactly what's wrong with it. ~ Robert L. Doerschuk
