Drala's relentlessly serene yet upbeat world music is a favorite in yoga classes. Their Eastern elements (such as Steve Gorn's bansuri flute and other native instrumentation) meld brilliantly with jazz, folk, and contemporary rhythms. Guitarist/producer/brainchild David Nichtern (who composed "Midnight at the Oasis" in a previous life) marries his electric and acoustic jazz guitar elements with Gorn's unbelievably inspired flute playing. This dynamic union, combined with the incredibly hypnotic and piercing vocals of Falguni, has turned out something deliciously infectious. However, this album is not all peace and quiet. "Seven Yogis Spinning" features unusual guitar picking and thumping drums, while "Moment to Moment" is a mysterious, driving piece where Nichtern and Gorn alternate solos, with Gorn's flute soaring into the unknown and Nichtern providing catchy, intriguing guitar hooks. The beat-driven, danceable, and catchy "Only Love (Can Save Us Now)" features Falguni again, belting out rippling melodies that bring the album to a glorious close.
