Champaign, a soul vocal group who downplayed the fact that it were among the rare early-'80s interracial acts, had scored a big hit in 1981 with the single "How 'Bout Us." But for some reason, the band didn't get a second album out fast enough to keep things moving, in part because of intra-group problems. By the time its second album came around, people had forgotten about the band and soul was again struggling, as the early-'80s revival had begun petering out. This wasn't a bad album, but it was almost completely ignored. ~ Ron Wynn
