A fine recording of peaceful, serene Native American music,
Moon Spirits features only flutes and natural sounds (ocean waves crashing, birds singing, etc.), combined to create songs that truly evoke the spirit of Mother Nature. Tsa'ne Dos'e, a member of the Saponi/Tuscarora tribe, plays three types of handmade flutes -- the old willow flute of the Iroquois, an eagle bone whistle, and the traditional red cedar flute -- all of which possess beautifully clear, resonant voices. On songs like "Callin' the Rain," "Flight of the Eagle," and "Enchanted Forest," Dos'e weaves enchanting webs of melody in and around the ambient sounds so perfectly that they almost seem a part of nature themselves. A relaxing, contemplative album perfect for meditation or contemplative introspection. ~ Bret Love
