Like its predecessor, the two-disc
More of Funk Comes A-Live crunches the funk in live sets by key genre acts like
Cameo,
the Gap Band,
the Ohio Players,
the Dazz Band,
Con Funk Shun, and of course, the man who really got it all thundering,
George Clinton. Although there have been many outstanding funk singles in the history of the form, funk is undeniably at its best in a live setting, where the deep grooves have time to stretch out like huge tidal waves, until the whole world is drenched in the funk, making this set an ideal party box. For some reason two
Robert Palmer tracks are tacked on to the end of this thing, and although "Hound Dog" stomps like hell, one can't help but wonder what these two tracks are doing here. ~ Steve Leggett
