The third volume of Simon Cooper's MUSIC FOR MOTHER AND BABY includes many of the lush, sparkling synthesizer patterns of the previous MOTHER AND BABY volumes, but the emphasis this time around is on the sounds of nature. Whether it is a beating heart, the sound of raindrops, a chorus of twittering birds, or the gentle sounds of wind and rushing water, Cooper intersperses these evocative samples artfully into his wide swaths of keyboard. The effect, especially when played at quiet volumes, will calm and soothe, and should prove an excellent soundtrack for nighttime, afternoon naps, or simple downtime for both mother and child.
