Adult continues to produce their unique sound. Blending together a love for new wave music with their Detroit techno sensibility,
Adult is at the forefront of Detroit's music scene. Combining the highly mutated vocals of Nicola Kuperus with a deep knowledge and love of analog synthesis, the husband-wife team of Kuperus and Adam Equation produce edgy upbeat electro designed for both home and dancefloor.
Although there are no clear standout tracks here, mention should be given to
Adult's continuing themes of deviant sexuality and dysfunctional communications. The photograph, contributed by Kuperus, of a model on a cordless phone matches very well with the eerie phone call of "Don't Talk" and the stalker imagery of "Hand to Phone." All these items make it clear that
Adult has continued to follow in the vein of fellow Detroit-area locals Dopplereffekt, producing even more sweetly disturbing electro. ~ Joshua Landau
