Silent Sound debuted in 2002 on the Boulder, CO-based Spring Hill label with
Nightfall. The album features
Butch Baldassari, David Hoffner, and Jim Hoke playing an array of instruments over the course of the album: everything from mandolin and mandola to woodwinds and strings. This trio performs compositions by a variety of songwriters, including Spring Hill recording artist
Michael Hoppé. The resulting music is not only relaxing and enchanting but also lush and tranquil, characteristics typical of the Spring Hill label. ~ Jason Birchmeier
