It's loud, it's crunchy, and it's actually pretty good in terms of the musicianship, ranging from slow, bluesy numbers to fast rockers with screaming solos. The problem is that it doesn't really quite click -- some of the song structures sound as though they wanted to go in one direction (sometimes hinting at very poppy ideas) and got dragged, screaming, in another. The result is uncomfortably tense and frustrating. The band and their producers would be best advised to let the music go where it wants from now on. [
