ALBUM

Avec certaines tournures de style rappelant Benjamin Biolay (lequel produit en partie l’album et chante sur Toxicomanes), ainsi qu’un name dropping forcené où l’on croise une dizaine de femmes françaises d’envergure (Marie Curie, Sophie Marceau, Françoise Hardy…), la chanson d’ouverture de cet album (Et Bleu…) annonce clairement la couleur : Pascal Obispo est une nouvelle fois atteint de « fanatisme » aigu ! Bien que cet opus soit éponyme, l’interprète de Lucie n’a jamais autant cité ou fait travailler les autres, et en particulier ses idoles. L’album compte donc de nombreux duos (Isabelle Adjani et Youssou Ndour sur D’accord, Christophe dans Poète maudit), ainsi que des hommages à des artistes disparus (Amy) ou vivants (Les Chansons de Voulzy et Souchon). Dans d’autres cas, Obispo mélange les deux tendances, comme cette chanson à la gloire de « John et Paul » en duo avec son fidèle complice Calogero (A Forthlin Road). Voilà pour les allusions explicites et les collaborations les plus « people ».

Dans d’autres morceaux, les hommages prennent la forme de clins d’œil plus subtils (à Michel Polnareff dans Allons en fan ou bien aux rythmiques chaleureuses du duo France Gall/Michel Berger dans Chante la rue). Notons enfin certains choix de duos et de reprises plus étonnants (Philippe Pascal de Marquis de Sade dans Je rentre, et la reprise de Saudade d’Etienne Daho). Cet album d’Obispo représente-t-il le comble de l’entre-soi ou témoigne-t-il d’un attachement sincère du chanteur envers toutes ces personnalités ? Penchons pour la seconde option car sur chacune des chansons, Obispo a visiblement l’enthousiasme d’un grand enfant excité à l’idée d’approcher ses idoles.
