While another
Edison Lighthouse compilation might be something to get excited about for bubblegum pop fanatics, the truth is that Park South's release of
On the Rocks is a complete farce. It includes their only number one hit, "Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes)," but this is the only song on
On the Rocks that is actually performed by
Edison Lighthouse. Other songs like "Funny How Love Can Be" are performed by other bands -- in this case, by an unknown group performing the song in the same style as
the First Class, a group linked to
Edison Lighthouse via singer
Tony Burrows, who sang for both groups. Those looking for a collection of
Edison Lighthouse should pass this one by and instead pick up
The Best of Edison Lighthouse: Love Grows on the Repertoire label, or check out the excellent compilation with a focus on all of the groups
Tony Burrows sang for,
Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes): The Voice of Tony Burrows.
