Despite its deceptively ethereal opening, Pasar de las Luces quickly taps into the visceral side of classic shoegaze and post-rock, balancing dreamily abstract noise with decidedly physical riffs. Mexican duo Mint Field pay homage to the cavernous, quiet-to-loud crunch of Mogwai ("Viceversa"), the speaker-blowing majesty of Ride ("Cambios Del Pasar"), and the surging pulse of early Stereolab ("Quiero Otoño De Nuevo").
