After signing with Sony,
Pedro Camargo Mariano, the second son of
Elis Regina (with
César Camargo Mariano) waited two years to prepare this release, which had no originals. The album includes the bossa classic "Triste" (
Tom Jobim), a
Roberto Carlos/
Erasmo Carlos romantic hit ("As Curvas da Estrada de Santos"), both recorded by Regina, and contemporary composers' works, including "Temporal" (
Djavan) and the rock hit "Pro Dia Nascer Feliz" (
Cazuza/Frejat), everything interpreted in a contemporary pop fashion with soul inflections. The album lacks the black energy that
Pedro seems to praise in his somewhat forced interpretations. The romantic songs are the ones that come close to pleasing the listener. ~ Alvaro Neder
