Pickin' on the Wreckers volume in CMH's now seemingly endless series of tributes to any band that ever had a record out should not be interpreted as a "bluegrass" reading of the 21st century country music stars' hits. If anything, this is one of the rare volumes in the series that may pay real tribute to the originals. Being instrumental has its advantages. These readings of tunes like "Cigarettes," "Rain," and "Way Back Home" evoke an easy parlor or back-porch feel. Hell, "Leave the Pieces" is downright tender. This is one of the few editions in this series that is not only worth what you pay for it, but more besides. Recommended. ~ Thom Jurek
