Combining crisp bluegrass harmonies with country songs and themes and topping it all off with a self-contained (this was a real working band, not just singers up there doing their thing in front of session players) rock approach,
Diamond Rio built a fine body of work in the late 1990s and the early part of the 21st century. This set makes for a decent introduction to the group, and it includes the hits "Meet in the Middle," "You're Gone," and "Beautiful Mess," among others, as well as an interesting cover of
the Eagles' "Lyin' Eyes."
