In 1995, all-female pop band
Prettier Than Pink released their debut self-titled album.
Prettier Than Pink's music is light and pleasant pop. Nonetheless, their music has more substance than the bland easy listening music so often purveyed by Philippine female artists. According to the credits, the four members of
Prettier Than Pink play their own instruments, which include drums, keyboards, bass, and guitar. The band is assisted by guest musicians on 12-string guitar and percussion. All four group members also sing, though one member, Lei Bautista, performs lead vocals.
