Don't get thrown by the name --
Fuck's music is, for the most part, minimal, slow, pretty, and country-tinged (in the same way albums like
Cat Power's could be called "country-tinged").
Pretty...Slow, as the title indicates, is even more hushed and intimate than the band's other releases -- most of the tracks are off-kilter ballads played on dimly recorded acoustic guitars or clicking electrics with bass and light percussion. The record serves as a nice highlight of
Fuck's lighter side -- their other releases feature more full-band tracks and more developed songs. ~ Nitsuh Abebe
