Priceless Jazz is a mid-line collection that concentrates on James Moody's classic recordings for Cadet in the late '50s and early '60s. Although this disc could hardly be called definitive since it weighs in at only 11 tracks, it nevertheless offers many of his best cuts for the label, including "Fly Me to the Moon," "Flute and the Blues," "Richard's Blues," "Cup Bearers," "Billie's Bounce," "The Jazz Twist" and "Home Fries." This is designed with the curious listener in mind, and they'll likely be satisfied by this enjoyable compilation. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
