This 20-track
Relaxation collection from Warner/Chappell lives up to its billing as offering "Sensitive Sounds for Yoga, Wellness and Chill Out." While a handful of artists contribute to this set, the bulk of the music comes from
Felipe Mendez and
Martin Haene and generally falls into a typical new age style featuring laid-back synth backgrounds and either guitars or piano. Some tracks lend themselves more easily to relaxation/meditation mode, while others veer a bit too far into a Muzak territory, delivering faux-blues guitar over lite, canned grooves. It makes for a somewhat uneven listen that breaks up the mood a little too often for its intended audience. For those seeking wellness, chilling out, and doing yoga all at once, however, this album has you covered. ~ Timothy Monger
