Once again delivering their own brand of emo/punk influenced rock,
Hidden in Plain View dive headfirst into swath of ringing guitar power ballads and mountainous rock anthems on their sophomore and ultimately final effort. While the group can come off as somewhat homogenous next to their contemporaries,
Resolution is nonetheless an invigorating collection of songs that are melodically and emotionally compelling pop nuggets. To these ends, the album opener "Bendy" is the band's rags to "resolution" story of coming up as punky emo-dreamers who hit it kinda big. Similarly, they stake their claim next to
Mötley Crüe's "Home Sweet Home" with their own paen to tour ennui with "Circles." Imagine if Bono had grown up on in New Jersey instead of Dublin and that's kinda sorta what
Hidden in Plain View would hope to sounds like. ~ Matt Collar
