Dubbed "the Beatles of the Native American world," Tom Bee and his band have given this music a voice in the mainstream scene. Bee himself even helped to create a Native American music category in the Grammys, and then went on to win one of the awards. REVEAL HIS GLORY is an amazing union of traditional Native American elements, Christian spirituality, folk, and modern pop music. Though a few of the tracks could be described as traditional (the simple spoken word and drum in "Psalm 86: 8-10" and birdlike flute in " I Peter I: 24-25"), many of these pieces show Bee's longtime love affair with rock & roll. Perhaps this is where Bee's experiences working with pop artists (such as Smokey Robinson, Michael Jackson, and others) come into play. The guitars and violin on "Joyful Victory" have a real folksy, pop feel and "Sacred Warrior," featuring traditional drums and flute, blends in more contemporary keyboards and vocals. Bee gives new meaning to the idea of American music--a melting pot of ideas born in the United States but unencumbered by cultural boundaries.
