Following Sing to Me Instead by two years and preceding his titular role in the film adaptation of Broadway's Dear Evan Hansen by a month, Ben Platt's second pop album, Reverie, maintains the intimate, longing tone of his debut while adding electronic elements like programmed drums, vocal processing, and prominent synths to its hyperreal production design. Included is "Imagine," a song he co-wrote with Jon Bellion and the Monsters & Strangerz that landed in the Top 30 of Billboard's Adult Top 40 Airplay chart. Structured around the three-pronged "King of the World," the album includes several additional references to the 1997 film Titanic. Both strangely modern and epically sentimental, Reverie returned solo Platt to the top half of the Billboard 200.
