Depuis ses origines dans les années 1990, le rap français a toujours été riche et enrichi par des personnalités aussi variées que MC Solaar, NTM ou IAM. La tendance est loin de s'être inversée dans les années 2000 où des Alkapote et des OrelSan ont su faire entendre l'originalité de leurs voix. Passé par le collectif rennais Columbine, Lorenzo a tout pour s'inscrire dans la lignée de ces illustres personnages.

Lorenzo débute sa carrière solo en 2017 avec le bien-nommé et fondateur Empereur du Sale qui est aussi son surnom favori. Ce coup d'essai suivi en 2017 par le succès du single « Fume à fond », permet à Lorenzo de se positionner sur l'échiquier du rap de France et de préparer son deuxième coup pour en faire une sorte de chef d'oeuvre du blitz.

Jouant à fond la carte de la provocation et de la promotion internet menée par ses soins (il réalisait aussi des vidéos humoristiques sur le net), Lorenzo sort avec Rien à Branler un album certainement majeur du rap de la fin des années 2010. Rien à Branler c'est du rap libertaire qui ne respecte aucuns codes - surtout pas ceux du rap game des poseurs - et fait la nique à une période de bien-pensance généralisée.

Aucun des textes de Lorenzo n'est reproduisible sans risquer de déclencher des polémiques et lui seul peut oser faire écouter en micro-trottoir le son de « Sucer ma bite » à des vieilles dames à permanentes rosées. « Rien à branler » ou « Carton rouge » font autant preuve d'humour que de vulgarité et il faut être le poto VALD pour se frotter à un Lorenzo déchaîné sur « Bizarre » où le rap et le cannabis sont également moqués.

Véritable slogan d'une génération à qui l'on promet en permanence la fin du monde, Rien à Branler fait partie de ces disques qui marquent leur temps en lui donnant le tempo adéquat.
