The album art for RONAN reveals the titular tenor striking a tough-guy New York City pose over backdrops awash in green. It's the perfect image for Ronan Tynan. Possessed of a booming voice, he originally rose to prominence as one of the Irish Tenors, but cemented his place in countless Americans' hearts through a stirring performance at New York City's Yankee Stadium in the wake of the events of 9/11/2001.

On 2005's RONAN, Tynan follows up his successful 2002 album with a record as majestic as ever, his voice soaring over songs from all fields. He opens with "Man of La Mancha," a classic that ideally suits his tenor voice. Tynan also incorporates spirituals into the set, striking a tone of flawless reverence on "How Great Thou Art." The high point of the album comes when Tynan takes hold of the Julie Gold song of hope (popularized by Bette Midler) "From a Distance," slowly building the song's natural tension before its beauteous return to silence.
