Women and girls explore the sounds of science with the children's music compilation

Science Fair, and host of "kindie rock" radio show Spare the Rock, Spoil the Child), the collection features 18 exclusive tracks, all sung by females and focused on science and engineering, with the goal of empowering young female listeners to explore science-related studies. First single "I Am a Scientist" finds indie pop duo Mates of State offering their quirky, charming take on the Guided by Voices song, while indie folk children's musician Frances England floats in space to the tune of "Goldilocks Zone" (the term for the area around a star where a planet could theoretically sustain life) and Renee & Jeremy pay tribute via ukulele to the pioneering physicist and chemist on "Madame Curie," while selections like Pistolera side project Moona Luna's "H2O" and MC Fireworks with Secret Agent 23 Skidoo's "Rocket Science" expand the overarching indie rock/pop sound with Latin pop and hip-hop, respectively.
