Talking Elephant Records has put out a few compilations like this one, each one drawing tracks from modern British folk artists like
Fairport Convention,
the Albion Band,
Ric Sanders, and others, and each one themed (winter, summer, fall, spring, etc.). This one gathers tracks that touch on the sea or the seaside, not to mention drunken sailors. It’s not definitive or exhaustive, but it’s a whole lot of fun. ~ Steve Leggett
