Originally an offshoot of the band
Jefferson Airplane,
Hot Tuna, led by guitarist
Jorma Kaukonen and bassist
Jack Casady from
the Airplane, took refuge from that band's psychedelic rock format to play stripped-down, jammed-out, and often acoustic sets of folk-blues, a path
Hot Tuna continue to follow some 40 years later. This 12-track set includes live performances drawn from shows held between 1969 and 1977, including fine versions of blues classics "Hesitation Blues," "How Long Blues," "Keep Your Lamps Trimmed and Burning," and others. ~ Steve Leggett
