The Casey Neill Trio has an intimate, well-spaced sound, with guitar, fiddle and mandolin being the chief instrumentation on most of
Skree's tracks (sometimes augmented with banjo, dobro, bodhran, flute, etc.).
Neill's songs are earnest, intelligent, and mindful both of folk tradition (see his fine cover of the Irish standard "Hare of Kilgrain") and contemporary tastes, injecting the energy of folk-rock as well as hints of Celtic, bluegrass, and country. Highlights include "A Mighty Love," "Love Is a Killing Thing," "Mingulay Boat Song," and "Okanogan County." ~ Steve Huey
