This out-of-print LP puts the emphasis on ballads and the mellow tone of flugelhornist
Franco Ambrosetti.
Don Sebesky's arrangements for a full orchestra generally avoid being sleepy, and there are spots for
Eddie Daniels (on flute and tenor), guitarist
Joe Beck, pianist
George Gruntz and
Barry Miles on synthesizer, but it is largely
Ambrosetti's playing that is most noteworthy. The repertoire consists of a pair of obscurities, two Sebesky pieces, and "Skylark." Overall, the obscure project is worthwhile, but not too essential.
