Somewhere Else is this Canadian production duo's second EP for
Diplo's
Mad Decent label, following 2013's
Hot Sauce. Unlike the previous EP, this one is loaded with guests, including
Twin Shadow and
D'Angelo Lacy, both of whom appear on "Lost You" -- one of
Zeds Dead's most straightforward commercial house tracks. They go it alone on only two of the eight selections: the bruising but jittery "Hadouken" and the relatively spacious, breakbeat-driven "Bustamove."
Perry Farrell,
Dirtyphonics,
the Bright Lights,
Omar LinX, and
Big Gigantic, among others, also appear on this release that fuses a few contemporary dance music styles with rap and pop.
